The following approximate costs are based on the current legal requirements under CAR Part 61 from the Civil Aviation Authority
The New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority requires: 200 hours Total flight time
This can be broken down into: 100 hours Pilot in Command 30 hours Cross Country training 10 hours Instrument flight time
The above hours include those gained in PPL training. The cost for a CPL will vary considerably between students due to the different types of aircraft flown.
With the Auckland Aero Club we estimate your total training cost to Commercial Pilot level (including PPL) should cost approximately $45,000-50,000 (based on the minimum requirements for CAA). For a more comprehensive estimation, please contact us directly.
